Obituary for Katherine B. thorpe

Katherine B. Thorpe of Newburgh, entered into rest on Sunday, August 6,2017. Katherine was the beloved daughter of the late David. W. Maxwell and Ann Thorpe. She was born in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Newburgh at a young age. Katherine was a local restaurant owner for many years, prior to her retiring. Katherine had many friends in several fields of endeavor, including political personalities, family, and friends who appreciated her service and attention. She served on several community boards, including the Housing Authority for the City of Newburgh, NY. She was a long time communicant at the Church of the Good Shepherd and a faithful contributor for many years. Katherine is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Diane (Maxwell) Sindone and Cindy (Maxwell) Berryman, all of Hyde Park area, Bill Brenner, Nancy Brenner, Kathy Brenner of the Newburgh area, Frances (Brenner) Spicer and Cleo (Brenner) Schacker from the Seattle area, Bill Manell from FL, and his sisters Mary Ann and Joan from the Newburgh area, and Dorothy (Maxwell) Grimes from PA and David Brenner and his wife Lois of Oneonta, NY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9,2017 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 10,2017 at 10:00am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
