Obituary for Adrian Gene Reynolds

Adrian Gene Reynolds, 72, Walden, New York

Walden – Adrian Gene Reynolds entered into eternal rest at her home on November 6, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia (FTD). She was 72.

Adrian was born in Manhattan, NY on January 18, 1946 to Abraham and Sano Halo, the 9th of 10 children. She moved from Bronx, NY to Monroe, NY in 1974 to raise the greatest gifts of her life, Amber, Jason and Dominica.

In the early 1980’s, Adrian owned and operated Adrian’s Party. She worked as a Controller for several automotive dealerships in Orange and Rockland counties in New York and in New Jersey.

Adrian was predeceased by her parents, Abraham (1973) and Sano (2014), and siblings Amos, Miriam, Helyn, and Harty. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate John Reynolds, Sr.; cherished children Amber (David) Crispino, Jason Lesiuk, and Dominica (Kenneth) Gazzillo; her siblings Jamie (Samuel) Evins, David (Regina) Halo, Timothy Halo, Thea Halo and Jonathan (Diane) Halo; stepchildren Laura Reynolds, John (Diana) Reynolds, Jr., Lisa Wood, and Bryan (Leigh) Reynolds; and her greatest joys, her grandchildren David and Collin Crispino, Taylor Ray Gazzillo, Zachary and Olivia Wood, Danielle, John and Gage Reynolds. She is also survived by countless nieces and nephews, and her life-long friend, Rose Marie MacNeil.

She met the love of her life, John Reynolds, Sr. in 1993 and they married in 2002. She moved to Walden, NY and enjoyed retirement in their beautiful home and spending time with her extended family.

She was a passionate, adventurous and dynamic person who loved her family, found joy in being creative and loved nature and all animals. Adrian enjoyed traveling with John and with the Friendship Force, attending plays and concerts and simply cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and school functions. Some of her adventurous travels included Alaska, Australia, Barcelona, Brazil, Hawaii, and Saipan.

She was an avid volunteer and was always willing to help in any way that she could. She ran for Monroe Town Clerk in 1983. She helped neighbors, friends and family, was president of the association in her community, and volunteered as an Election Inspector for numerous elections. It is truly ironic that she passed away shortly after the New York polls closed on November 6, 2018.

She was truly adored and will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate to know and love her. Mom will forever be remembered as our “Beautiful Guardian Angel”.

Adrian’s family will receive family and friends at the Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home, Inc., 318 N. Montgomery St., Newburgh, NY 12550 on Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. (
